"As a little girl, my favorite thing was to make clothes for my doll. In the summertime, my parents would always see me sitting outside our house, carefully choosing scraps of fabric for a cocktail dress, coat, or pajamas. My doll also needed sheets, pillows, blankets and window treatments, which I made for her using just scissors, a needle, and white thread. There were no sketches or patterns, just a design idea in my head and a completed project soon after.
Years went by, and in 1989 I was accepted to the Stanislaw Wyspianski Art School in Jaroslaw, Poland, where for five years I studied color composition, painting and drawing, sculpture, and art history. After graduation, I moved with my family to the United States. It took me many years to learn about this country, its people and their language. I had to put aside my art interests while I studied business administration and started my own family. Then, my husband and I purchased our first beautiful home that needed to be remodeled, furnished, and decorated. I loved the challenge. Memories came back, and my passion for fabrics, interiors, and sewing skills could finally shine through."
